The University of Benin MLS CPD 2017 held on the 11th of July at the university’s banquet hall with the theme: Molecular Diagnostics in chemical laboratories and translational research: The Road map. The event which drew an audience of eminent research personnel saw in attendance the Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof F.F.O Orumwense, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (academic) Prof P.E. Iribhogbe, Provost, Deans and professors from the school of Basic Medical Sciences and Medical Laboratories Sciences.
The 193 inaugural lecture of the University of Benin took place on the 6th of July 2017 at the Akin Deko auditorium-venue of the event. Attracting a packed audience, the event began with the customary recitation of both the national and Uniben anthems. The event was attended by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin Prof.
The 2017 seminar: Gendered Participation for Sustainable Development attracted dignitaries from government, civil society and the academia, with the wife of the Edo state governor Mrs Betsi Obaseki ably represented by the deputy speaker of the Edo state house of assembly Rt Hon Elizabeth Ativie. The Vice Chancellor was represented by the DVC Academics, Prof Pius Iribhogbe, the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mrs. O.A. Oshodin, and other principal officers were also in attendance.
